Two panels, mixed freely
Each panel — and each tab — picks its own source. Local on the left, Drive on the right, or two Google accounts side by side. Swap them, link their browsing, save the layout as a workspace.
For macOS 14 Sonoma and later
DriveManager is a dual-panel file manager for the Mac, in the Total Commander tradition. Put a local folder next to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, an SFTP server or an S3 bucket, and copy between them with one key.
Any panel can show any source
What it does
Each panel — and each tab — picks its own source. Local on the left, Drive on the right, or two Google accounts side by side. Swap them, link their browsing, save the layout as a workspace.
F5 and F6 copy and move between any two sources as background jobs: a queue, speed limits, retry rules, optional checksum verification and an Activity Log that remembers every job.
F3 view, F5 copy, F7 new folder, Space to mark, type to jump. A command palette (⇧⌘P) reaches every command, and every shortcut can be changed in Settings.
F3 opens a fast viewer for the file under the cursor: text and hex of any size, PDF, images with EXIF, video (MKV and WebM too), Markdown, HTML, SQLite, plists, disk images, installer packages and app bundles.
Step into ZIP, 7z, RAR, tar, ISO and more like ordinary folders — even on a remote server. Create ZIPs with AES-256 passwords, add to them, extract with ⌥F9.
Git status badges, commit, history, fetch, pull and push right in the panel. Compare two files line by line or two images side by side, and sync folders one-way or two-way across any sources.
Find files by name, content, kind, size and date — in a folder, a whole drive, all your Google accounts or every source at once. Save searches and run them again with one key.
Multi-Rename (⌃M) applies an ordered list of rules — masks, replace, case, counters — with a live preview, presets and Undo, on every source.
Themes from the Mac-native look to classic Midnight Commander blue, light and dark and Increase Contrast, three densities, Commander or Finder style per panel, List, Brief and Thumbnails views, tabs and saved workspaces.
A closer look

Marked files in the left panel, photos as thumbnails on the right. The active panel is always unmistakable.
Keyboard first
If you grew up with Norton, Total or Midnight Commander, you already know DriveManager. The function-key bar at the bottom shows what each key does; on a Mac keyboard, ⌘3–⌘8 work as F3–F8 too.

Questions
No. DriveManager costs €10 on the Mac App Store, paid once through your Apple account.
Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
DriveManager runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it can only see folders you grant it once with the standard Open dialog. Grants are remembered across launches. You can optionally give it Full Disk Access in System Settings, but nothing needs it.
Google Drive (any number of accounts, shared drives included), Dropbox, OneDrive and SharePoint, WebDAV (Nextcloud, ownCloud, Synology…), SFTP, FTP and FTPS, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible storage (Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi, MinIO), SMB and AFP shares, and iCloud Drive.
Yes: both connect through your own free developer app registration (a Dropbox app key, or a Microsoft Entra app ID), which you enter once in Settings → Accounts. Google Drive needs no setup.
It works next to Finder. Files drag and drop between them, Show in Finder is one click away, and Quick Look (⌘Y) works as usual.
Only to the services you connect yourself. DriveManager has no analytics, no tracking and no account with us.
